Hey friend! How are you doing? There’s a good chance. I will be out there live streaming this weekend. The weather looks like it’ll be fantastic. It’s a time of year here in Minnesota where we can keep the windows open. How’s everything for you? What’s the temperature like right now. I did notice the waving when I watched the playback. He definitely was out there waving.

I think it’s so cool to see the Coast Guard vessels. I really think it’s cool when they break ice. They also put their life on the line. They step up to the plate when anybody needs help and they are in trouble. Big-time respect for the Coast Guard.

Hey friends! My friends from California. How’s the weather there in Iowa? I bet it’s cool? It really cooled down in Minnesota and it’s been actually lovely. Having the temperature the way it is right now now. I plan on being on the boat this weekend and possibly will be doing a live stream from the boat.

That is one place I have not been! I want to make it to Hawaii. The beautiful culture, the food, the scenery. I’ve heard so many great things about it. Which island did you live on?

I graduated from JB Castle High School in Kanehohe. Mike I took the NCL inter Islands cruise and enjoyed myself. The off coast and in port experiences are worth the cost. Imagine a 1/4 miles off shore experience from an active lava flow?! Overall is no more than 1 or 2 Island visit in costs. Oh...please visit Da `Aina of my home State of Hawai'i, Da 50th. I really enjoy those big ships that have the cranes on it. They’re definitely is a variety of ships that come through Duluth. I plan on possibly doing a live stream this weekend.

That is great to hear! You are arriving in Duluth at the right time. I want you to be prepared for the ships. Here are the two tools that I use to determine when the ships will be arriving or departing in Duluth. Keep in mind, there is no sure thing because of weather, speed of loading/unloading, etc. However, if you use all three of these together, it’ll really help you know what’s going on. Here are those tools. #1 This is updated by Duluth Harbor Cams, this one can be accurate too, however, it’s all about when it gets updated as well. They do a good job. harborlookout.com/ships#0 #2 This will help you determine exactly where the ship is in live time. It’s extremely accurate. The app I use is called “MarineTraffic” and it has a blue ship for the logo. You will really enjoy it! You can research vessel names and follow ships all over the world. You can download it on your Android or Apple phone.

Anytime I get to think about Arizona. It’s a good thing! I’m a sucker for the Phoenix area. I love Scottsdale, Glendale that whole area. Thank you so much for taking time out of your evening to say something really fun and positive.

Penny, I really want to get to the locks at Sault Ste. Marie Michigan. So many people have been there and told me how wonderful it is to see the ships that close. I really have to get there. How many ships did you see while at the locks?

Bill, thank you for the nice comment tonight. It was my pleasure showing you what it’s like going over the bridge. Also, regarding the lightning strikes on the bridge, I heard they have multiple high points that ground any electrical current.

It definitely was wild to be recording the bridge and see that lightning streak across the screen. It was actually really cool. It was the first time I’ve ever recorded ships and had lightning in a video like this.

I really enjoy seeing some of these oceangoing ships because they had so much character and a very unique look to the Duluth Harbor. I also like seeing those big cranes on the ship. It was so fun watching the ship and that weather.👍⛴️

I heard that the lift bridge actually has a grounding system if it does get struck by lightning. That electrical current will go right to the ground. However, I really like your question about this to get us all thinking. It absolutely can’t be fun being in that small little house on a metals object when there’s lightning.👍⛴️

Absolutely, the kid came out in me with those weatherproof boots and a big puddle. I knew I had to jump in it. I will take all of this rain over a lot of snow though. So I was OK and I stayed pretty dry.👍⛴️

The lightning and thunder was pretty cool during the ship arrival! I had those waterproof boots on, so I had to walk through that big puddle

The sun shining through in the east in the evening is pretty interesting! Loved all the water reflection too. Nice crowd as well! Great video, boat friend!
